I've received a plea for help from the Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, which arranges free summer vacations for New York City children from low-income communities. They have over 200 children who are scheduled for trips this August but have yet to be placed with host families - and all potential host families need to be screened by the end of July.
If you could welcome a child from the city into your home next month, know someone who can, or help get the word out, please look here for more information and contact the Fresh Air Fund as soon as possible.
